Introduction to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim!

As I mentioned above, Skyrim is an Open World Action Role Playing Game, with Historical elements in it. The world in the game is very beautiful and very interactive. Just that the Enemies in the game might be a trouble at times. But, that too won’t disturb you a lot once you set a good game for yourself. Just that the thing with this game is that now it has been an old game. People have been playing it for the past 7 Years. So, you see? Best Games Like Skyrim You would Love if You Loved Skyrim

So, now in this section, you get to read about the 20 Games Like Skyrim, that you will love if you loved the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. So, shall we proceed? Perfect, read below.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Well, the oblivion is obvious to be on the list. The reason that I say this for is that the Elder Scrolls has been a great series of games, and if you played the latest version of the game, that is Skyrim, then obviously you can understand how good the earlier version of the game would be. Well, even if you are having a tough time guessing, I can actually explain it all to you. Do you know of the game Morrowind? Well, there are people who compare it to the Skyrim, but in true senses, it is very different from Skyrim. While the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is pretty much similar.

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

Also, you should consider playing Oblivion because it consists of The Shivering Isles, which is one of the best expansions in the history of the Elder Scrolls Games. The Shivering Isles will take you to the mad Daedric Prince Sheogorath’s domain and that is one thing, which you should really experience.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This Nintendo enterprise is one of the best Games Like Skyrim. Although I just called it like Skyrim, the game has a unique experience for every user who plays it. Also, we have known Nintendo for the Gameboy console, and a few lighter games, when it comes to the realm of creating Massive, Action-Packed RPGs. But, with the game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, they have proven many critics wrong. The time when the company first presented the Game, it appeared like Playing Skyrim in the world of Zelda. So, you know it is really a Game which is really like the Skyrim. Also, what you can do in the game is roam around anywhere, there are no limits to reach any places.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of Wild

Then you get to battle the enemies, eliminate them, there would be monsters, evil souls and a lot to fight against in the Game, the Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild. You can also find some powerful gears, earn some special powers, and grow stronger in the game, and even choose the order which your game should go in. Like, if you want to first play the Side Challenges, then finish those first, and then focus on the main story mode, or maybe give up on every challenge, and just enjoy the beautiful Hyrule.

Nintendo has majorly put their focus on the explorations in this game. They have allowed you to travel the whole Legend of Zelda world by walking, swimming, running, climbing or even gliding. This is what might just make you fall in love with their world.

Mount and Blade: Warband

Well, if you too are a fan of the form of Combat in the Skyrim, along with the setup of the time and culture, then this game just might be another best for you. The Mount and Blade: Warband is a medieval set game, which features Combat of the same form as there was in the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Just that the story of this game might not just really impress you. The game has some key elements, which seem to link it with the history, the culture, and a lot more. Although it is an RPG, still the Open world might not just appear to you to be the biggest of all times.

Mount and Blade Warband

Apart from this, the game has a deeply interactive and very interesting combat system. You see? The developers have paid some real attention to this thing. The combat in this game even includes Horses. And then the Mount and Blade: Warband has a Multiplayer option, which the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and Oblivion both used to lack.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

To be honest, if you are looking for an Open World Action RPG, the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sits on the top. The Game offers the best experiences of the Open World, and then the action in the game is amazing. And, when I say the best, I mean the best. The Open world in this game is a bit more beautiful than the one in the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and that is what I felt. Although, there are things which are different from the Skyrim, still if you want to play some new Games Like Skyrim, which have something better and a bit different to offer, this is the game you should just start playing.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

The game is such that, the choices that you make in the game shape up the open world, and the story that follows. The exploration experiences in the game are amazing. You have to be riding a Horse here, and then it is all going to be about Adventure, Combat, and Explorations. The game has a huge world, and whenever you reach a new location, you will be able to find or locate and grab some totally unexpectable, yet amazing opportunities in the game. As I said, it is all about Adventure, Combat, and Exploration.  And this is all before you dive into the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Two expansions that can easily outclass some full games out there are these.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

This is one older version of the Elder Scrolls. And, that is the reason why it has to be a bit similar to the newer version of Elder Scrolls, that is Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Although, in the year 2018 it might sound a little too outdated to play Morrowind, still if you are looking for Games Like Skyrim, this is the game which really is like the Elder Scroll V. Also, it is a very simple and basic game. This doesn’t mean that it is easy to play. Just that it doesn’t have any location markers or fast travel modes. What you have to do is thoroughly go through the game, and observe everything that is happening in the game, to understand what you have to do next.

The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind

Although, you will be able to witness many differences, the heart and soul of the Elder Scrolls that is Exploration, Combat, and beautiful Open World stays the way that it was.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Now, this one is the best example of Games Like Skyrim. The reason is that it has the most similarities with Skyrim, just that it has been a bit more real than Skyrim’s concepts ever were. Unlike Skyrim, which is a lot about Fantasies, KCD is a game, which has a base upon the Medieval Times, the people in those times, and the whole story is that way only. It is all about the Medieval Realism, rather than the Heavy doses of Fantasies, as there were in the Skyrim.

Kingdom Come Deliverance

The story of the game is based on the real events that took place in Bohemia in the year 1403. It is a really big game, but it will make every Skyrim fan feel great, on the pursuit of finding Games like Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

I don’t even remember when did the first Elder Scrolls game came out, still, I am pretty sure that the Game has been here for a long time now. These games have been around for a long time now, and have hence built a fan base for themselves. The developers of the game have stuck to the basics, have kept the elements as interesting as those could be. The storyline has been amazing, and the best thing that I like about an Open World RPG is that you can do a lot of exploration in such games. And, the fun fact is that it is always fun to be traveling in the game, exploring new lands, and doing whatever you want to, apart from just participating in the game as a Hero Character.

The Elder Scrolls Online

That is how you actually live the game. And, although Skyrim is a great game, the gamers have now started looking for some more Games Like Skyrim, and the Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is one such game. The best thing about this New version of the game is that it takes the Open World Experiences of its predecessors and the progression system that rewards you for what you actually do or use. And then it mixes that all with an MMO, letting millions of other players join in on your adventure. That is something, at least I never imagined the Elder Scrolls Games to be mentioning.

Because of the Recent updates in the Morrowind, the world is even bigger in the Tamriel Unlimited Online edition of the Elder Scrolls.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (PC, PS3, 360)

As Royal as the name sounds, the game is an amazing quest and a battle against the odds that you are going to face. It also is an Open World Action Role Playing Game, and this one has some really unique and amazing features. This is the one game that I have fallen in love with, and I highly recommend to people who are looking for Games Like Skyrim. The reason is that it is not just similar to Skyrim, but I found it even better than that. It is a huge game, with some of the most beautiful Open Worlds, which you can explore as much as you want to.

Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning

It was developed by 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. And, that is what can easily help you guess, how grand would the game actually be. You as a player, have to take the role of the “Fateless One” who is killed at the beginning of the game. Then you have to set out on your own to find out what happened and then you have to save everyone from death.

Also, as there are in the Skyrim, the Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning includes many towns and cities, along with the Monster that you have to fight each with different quests, choices, and even varying consequences. It has the same kind of Adventures, which make the Bethesda’s fantasy RPG, i.e., the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim so loved. Also, the story of the game is mind-blowing, as one of the writers of the game is R. A. Salvatore (Forgotten Realms series, Corona series).

Fallout: New Vegas

The version of Fallout, which came between the Fallout 3 and the Fallout 4, i.e., the Fallout Vegas is a total dope. Still, the Fallout 3, and Fallout 4 have always been more famous than this one, for reasons only the gamers of this game have known. But, one thing that is good about the game is that it has a really wide, and great looking Open World, which would make you want to explore as much of it as possible. Also, the game has Side quests, plenty of optional places to explore and characters to meet.

Fallout New Vegas

Now, the thing is that How is it a Game like Skyrim? Well, it truly is, it has all the elements to make it one game similar to the Skyrim, just that it is not set in the Medieval times. The plot of the game is about the post-apocalypse Las Vegas, and this means that you as a Hero have to clearly be good and save as many lives as possible, conquering over the Bosses/Enemies in the game. So, if you want to experience the Elder Scrolls kind of Gameplay, and Exploration opportunities, with a different tone of the story, and plot, this game is totally for you.

Fallout 3

When we talk about some great Open World Action RPGs, Fallout has to be on the list. Always. Although this version of the Fallout might appear to be a bit outdated to many people, the game is a Legend. It has some of the best Open World Experiences to offer, but again just that it is not set in the Medieval Times. This is what makes it different from the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Fallout 3

Just as you would have in the Fallout 4, in this game as well, you will have a Wide huge Map open for you, that you can explore. And, there are too many side quests, and dungeons to distract you from the Main story of the Game. Still, if you enjoy it, then this is going to be one of the Best Games Like Skyrim. To play the game, get yourself a DLC version of the Game, so you might just be invaded by the aliens, and you aren’t really frustrated by the way, that the game might end.

Dragon’s Dogma

If you are a fan of Open World Action RPGs, which I assume you are, then you would love this one too. The Dragon’s Dogma is a Game which is full of challenging Opponents, in a Large Open World, which looks beautiful, with so many different opportunities. You get to fight many Monsters, and Devils in the game, and when you win over those, the game rewards you. In the game, you have to play as the Hero, whose heart has been stolen by a Dragon, and then you are on the pursuit to finally be able to Find your Heart back and get a final fix for it.

Dragon's Dogma

And, as you just read, the story might just interest you, still if it doesn’t then you can let go of it at any moment, and go out and explore the whole world. The Open World in the game is full of opportunities, dangerous dungeons, towns, cities, and caves, having monsters. Although, the game Dragon’s Dogma has a lot in similar with the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, as the open world might seem kind of similar, as it is similarly huge, but then the Skyrim lacks some strategic needs, that this game has. In this game, you might have to develop a strategy to finish the game quick.

Divinity II

There are many people who say that this isn’t one of the Games Like Skyrim, but actually, it consists of all the important elements of the Skyrim. This is what makes it similar to it. You get to Explore freely, Engage deeply in Combat, Fight Enemies and have as much fun playing this one, as you would normally have with the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Although, you can’t yell at creatures in this game, and nor can you use those for a ride, still there is a lot more you can do to make this game very interesting.

Divinity 2

Also, even being a Game like Skyrim, it is pretty different as well. As, in Divinity II, you will notice that the pace of the game is quite faster than that of the Skyrim. Also, the game has a loot system, which is pretty much similar to that of the World of Warcraft, and Diablo III. One thing I am pretty sure of is, that come what may when you will get to play this game, you will fall in love with it for sure.

Neverwinter

This is another Action Packed Open World RPG, which you might fall in love with if you are looking for Games Like Skyrim. This game also has a Fantasy Based Exploration, and Plot, just as Skyrim. Also, this game too features Dragons and Dungeons, the Open World is very beautiful and attractive to explore. You can even buy stuff against real money, in the game, but I’d suggest you don’t do that.

Neverwinter

Throughout the game, you will get to witness and fight against different clans of Dragons, and enemies. Also, the game has different classes of enemies, that you will have to tackle. The gameplay of the game is a bit more similar to that of the ESO, and a bit less similar to that of the Skyrim.

Dragon Age

This is another game which is quite similar to the Skyrim. Including this one, the game Dragon Age has two other games. That makes out, the game to have a total of 3 versions. The first two are available on PS3, 360, and PC, while if you go on to buying the latest version of the Dragon Age, that is Dragon Age Inquisition, then you get to be able to play it on any of the New Gen Consoles as well.

Dragon Age

Although the game won’t really allow you to explore as much as you can in the Skyrim game, still the Open world and the available area for exploration is quite beautiful, and you might just want to keep playing the game for long hours. Sadly, there is no Fus Ro Dah action which you can participate in. This is one more limitation of this game, apart from the area limitation.

Assassin’s Creed Origins

Well, Assassin’s Creed has always been a legend, but then it has always been way too different from anything like the Elder Scrolls, right? Umm, yes, but not with the latest version of the Assassin’s Creed, that is the Origins. The game takes place in the Modern Day Egypt, the story is pretty excellent, and then the Open World is amazing. You get to explore a lot in the game, with the amazing quality of Graphics, so many enemies to fight against, the third person Combat, everything that goes on in the game, including the action, stealth kills, and hidden quests, and dungeons, the Game is truly the best thing you would want to play apart from Skyrim.

Assassin's Creed Origins

Just that there is one thing, which I feel I must tell you about, that is that the game is about Bayek, and not you, so for that reason, it might feel to be lacking the same role-playing possibilities as the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Fallout 4

After, and apart from the Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas, the Fallout 4 is a game which is one of the Best Games like Skyrim. Just like the Fallout 3, this game too has options to roam around in the beautiful open world, which is a sea of new opportunities for you. You can get your teeth stuck into various challenges, and quests, and pass your time, or just stick to the main missions, and follow the story of the game easily. Anyway, you will just get to enjoy the game pretty much. Again, as I told about the Fallout 3, as that game lacks in the Imaginative and Fantasy world of the Skyrim, the Fallout 4, too doesn’t have the same elements.

Fallout 4

The combat quality is good, and I am sure, you are going to enjoy that. Apart from that, the open world experiences are amazing, and the game is set in the modern ages. So, you know, you won’t be getting to experience or witness anything from the Medieval times. The game also lets you kill enemies, steal their clothes, pocket their weapons and move ahead. It is all up to you only. Just, take care of yourself in the game, and focus towards killing whoever you need to.

Final Fantasy XV

As we all know, that the Elder Scrolls is the one game, which has been ruling the world of Action RPGs since long ago. The reason has always been the amazing quality of the build of the game, the Graphics, the story-line, a Huge and pretty open world, along with the Action and Fantasies that it features. But, are there any competitors near to it? Obviously yes! Final Fantasy XV is one such competitor, and that is what makes it stand at a good place in the list where you talk about the Games Like Skyrim.

Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV is a massive and huge open world Action Role Playing Game, which has been here for a while, and has a good fan base and has with side quests, optional dungeons, and villages and towns to explore. The best part of the game is that you don’t have to ride a horse all the time, instead, you can choose to get into a pretty sweet car, which in you get to listen to some great music. This makes cruising in the game, very very interesting. And talking of the open world environment of the game, the Final Fantasy XV is pretty much similar to the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, while if you move onto Combat, the two games are different.

Red Dead Redemption

With a modern touch of the Gangster-ism, as it might appear, the game Red Dead Redemption is a sweet similar to the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The open world is great and grande to explore for you. You get to be at the places which will drive you crazy about the Environment in the game. This is one game, which offers you too much of Freedom, as you play the game.

Red Dead Redemption

You have to play the game as the lead character, whose name is John Marston, who is a former outlaw, who has to seek Justice for his own self now. The open world freedom and experiences make it highly comparable to the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. And, as it is one game which’s base is some modern-day realism, there are no dragons, or dungeons to deal with, so calm yourself a bit about that. But, as the hero, you will get to reveal many secrets, ride horses, play as a badass outlaw, who now has to seek justice for his own self now. Still, if you want Monsters and Dragons particularly in your Favorite RPG, then the Undead Nightmare might just suit your needs better.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Well, Horizon Zero Dawn is another famous game, which is the one, which can satisfy your itch and wants of playing more Games like Skyrim. The Horizon Zero Dawn has been out for only Play Station, as the Sony Interactive Entertainment has published it. So, this just means that you will need to have a Play Station 4 to play the game. The Horizon Zero Dawn is a game, which goes on in the third person, and has a world entirely different from ours, and that of the Skyrim as well.

Horizon Zero Dawn

But, then the thing is that the amazing Open World Experiences of the game will make you drool, and you would want to finish the game off as soon as possible. Just, that to play this game, you need to have a Play Station 4.

Divinity: Original Sin 2

Now, as the Divinity 2, which I already mentioned of in this article above, this version too is a game quite similar to the Skyrim. With some of the most beautiful open world experiences, and the quests, and side challenges that you get, there are a hell lot of Opportunities, which you will get to go through while playing in this Game. The Divinity: Original Sin 2, has more in common classic isometric RPG games like Baldur’s Gate.

Divinity Original Sin 2

The whole game Divinity: Original Sin 2, has a lot of content to feature about the Freedom. Also, with the game’s GM Mode, you can make your friends mix as well. Apart from this, you can create scenarios for them, which they can later play though, and emulate the freedom of creativity, which the Skyrim would normally bring into the game.

So, this was all for now about the 20 Games Like Skyrim You would Love if You Loved Skyrim. I hope you found this article helpful, and if you did, then do share it with your friends as well. Also, stay in touch with us, for a lot more such content relating to Technology, and Gaming.
